I opened Breathing Room Collective, a yoga and meditation studio in Hillsboro, Oregon, in november 2024 because I believe deeply in the importance of returning to the ‘village’ - investing in, fostering, and connecting with local community.
Rediscovering and cultivating basic human connection is crucial to our individual and collective health (mental AND physical) especially in the context of our screen-driven lives. The real human connections we make throughout our lifetimes exponentially increase our quality of life in a way that cannot be replicated with social media followers or text messages.
Yoga and meditation can act as a conduit of that deeper connection not only through our own breath and bodies, but with other human beings; encouraging empathy and understanding with and for each other.
My passion for global and eclectic art, culture, and philosophy has led me to explore the world with an open heart - falling in love with new lands on every trip (Sometimes staying for months, or even years…) with many places left to explore, I am always coming home; returning a better version of myself each time.
The year of my 50th birthday, I bowed out of 25 years as a self-employed business consultant to complete 500 yoga teacher training hours in South Goa, India over the course of 2 months. It was a transformational experience in ways I am still discovering.
Dedicated to creating exceptional experiences, I curate the team, the community, and the schedule at Breathing Room Collective.
While I have earned 500 certified and registered yoga teacher training hours, countless teaching hours, and multiple specialty yoga and meditation certifications, I am first and always a student.
